Complex Cultural Concepts are abstract nouns with unstable, overlapping meanings that vary within and across social formations. Their adjectival forms can be used to characterize generic things, like experiences, practices, objects, etc. Terms like “religious,” “spiritual,” “hallucinatory,” “sacred,” “revelatory,” “occult,” “heretical,” “superstitious,” “magical,” and “delusional” are examples of adjectivized CCCs.
