Event

An event is a basic concept signifying “a segment of time at a given location that is perceived by an observer to have a beginning and an end” (Zacks and Tversky 2001). This basic concept is therefore particularly useful for studying CCCs related to experience, narrative, and story telling. It allows us to draw on the discipline of event cognition, which studies how people identify, process, memorize, and narrate events.
